Top 5 Crucial Blogging Tips

During my blogging journey, I get a lot of things, both good things and bitter things. I took that as a good thing because I get something (either knowledge or money) that makes me love blogging even more.

And I consider it as bitter things because it makes me disappointed in some aspects. Although I consider it like that, but still, I get some lessons from it.

After going through all kinds of obstacles and hurdles, I finally found that there are 5 crucial tips that will make your blog successful. I will explain everything here.

Although I say it as crucial tips, it does not mean you will be successful as a blogger in the near future. Blogging takes patience, consistency, commitment and hard work. It is set in stone!

Here they are top 5 crucial tips that will make your blog successful for sure:

1. Blog About What You Love

You will not go anywhere if you choose a niche that you don’t love at all. The first thing you should do is; blog about what you love.

Just like when you love someone, you must be willing to sacrifice to do anything so that your loved ones can be happy, right? As well as blogging.

The fact is blogging is not an easy work even if you love your niche. Can you imagine what kind of misery you’re going through if you don’t love your niche?

To blog = to share, to connect, to create and to inspire [Click To Tweet This!]

By starting a blog, you should be ready with all the challenges and obstacles you must face. I’m sure you would be able to overcome everything gladly if you love your blog and your niche.

My little advice to you is; do not start blogging for money!

If you start blogging for money, I can assure that you will be tired by yourself. But, if you follow your passion, the money will come by itself.

2. Take Advantage of Social Media

Take Advantage of Social Media

Take Advantage of Social Media (image credit: bigmarketing.co.uk)

If you want to build a successful blog, then social media sites are your best friend.

Almost everyone in this world has social media accounts, whether it Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram and others. You can certainly see great potential behind this fact, right?

3. Follow And Comment On Other Blogs

One way to survive and succeed in the blogosphere is you have to build relationships with other bloggers. And one way to build relationships with them is by commenting on their blogs.

Find professional bloggers who have given a lot of influence on the blogosphere and follow their blogs. If possible, leave valuable comments on their articles and build good relationships with them.

If you do that consistently, your online presence will be stronger, your name will be embedded in the minds of people and it will increase visitors to your blog, you’ll even get return visitors as well.

My little advice for you: take a few minutes of your time to do blog commenting, you can start with 5 comments per day (sometimes I do 10 comments per day).

Do that continuously without being bored. Well, I must admit, it was boring, but trust me, you will see amazing results immediately.

Your blog traffic will increase for sure, your online presence will be stronger and you will get more followers (it’s a small bonus for your efforts though).

4. Don’t Stress Over Numbers

Don’t Stress Over Numbers

Don’t Stress Over Numbers (image credit: franqgirl.com)

There are many bloggers who are always checking their blog stats. It would not be a problem if you only occasionally do that. That would be a problem when you check it any time.

Well, I understand that you want to see the progress of your blog. But, it would be bad for you if you get the results much different from your expectations.

Remember, numbers are not your goal (should not be your goal) to start a blog.

It was just a parameter that will make you careless. It would be far wiser if you continue to do the best 3 tips above.

When the time comes, you will be surprised with the results you get without you even knowing.

Don’t blogging for numbers, it’s not a cool reason. Start blogging because it is your passion, because you enjoy writing, because you want to expand your online business, and because for another cool reasons.

5. Never Give Up

I know this is only sweet words for you. But, I think this is very appropriate words for this topic.

There are no great things happen in this world that was created by someone who gave up easily. I’m sure you know some examples for it.

To confirm it to you, please check the image below and take some lessons from it.

Never Give up

It’s a great booster, isn’t it? 😉

As a blogger, you are bound to run into many problems and obstacles that will make you start thinking to quit blogging. That’s reasonable though, I also experienced difficult times, too.

But, it’s not important at this time. The important thing now is how high you bounce after experiencing those bitter things.

If you look carefully, you will realize that any tough times that happens to you, it teaches you something and it wants you to grow.

You should be grateful to get those times, it’s one of the signs that you are not an ordinary person. Well, a skilled sailor will not show up from the calm sea, right? 🙂

Never stop trying. Never stop believing. Never give up. Your day will come!

I think that’s the best 5 crucial blogging tips for today. Follow these tips and add consistent in your efforts, I’m sure you will find success with your blog, slowly but surely.

I know, there are a lot of tips about blogging that I did not mention here, I know about it (expert bloggers might be bored reading this though 😆 ).

I’m just focusing on these 5 things. Because when you are an expert in these, you will find other tips by yourself.

Focus on what you can do, do it with the best you can do. [Click To Tweet This!]

One thing that never lie to you is: your hard work! [Click To Tweet This!]

Now it’s your turn..

In your opinion, what is the one crucial thing to building a successful blog?

  • Blogging is great way to make money and a great way to improve your writing skills. I started blogging about 3 months ago and it has been a rough, but rewarding journey. I have improved my writing skills and what I write about has ultimately helped me improve my life. I love that you said blog about what you love and are passionate about. I agree with you 100% because when you blog about what you love and what you are passionate about, you are less inclined to give up when things get rough. Building a successful blog will take time, but if do something everyday that will help you become successful, you will be successful.

  • Hey Nanda!!

    What a valuable post man!

One of the best tips, for me, is to blog about what you love, and to never, ever, give up!

Consistency should be your best friend here!

You also need a lot of passion in order to keep going when hard times comes. You need a lot of great energy to do the necessary work no matter what, and passion will give you just that and more! 😉

In order to do great work, you must love what you do. There is no way around it. Loving what you do and being very passionate about it, will give you the energy, creativity, and tools to become the best!

This is great information to help out the new blogger online man. I’m glad you put it together.

Thank you for the support of my blog, by the way. 🙂

    Keep up the great work!

Have a fantastic rest of the week!

    • Hi Freddy,

It’s good to see you here. 🙂

Glad to know there are some best tips for you. Yes, you will not be regarded as a loser if you still have not given up yet, but if you decide to give up, then everything ends here. You will really be a loser for sure!

Of course, I agree with you. Without consistency, you will not achieve anything in blogging. If you have decided to blogging, your commitment should you hold tightly, I’m sure you can achieve whatever you want that way. 🙂

Oh yes, passion will break all kinds of obstacles that you will face in the future. I have no doubt about it. 😉

I also remember that Steve Jobs also said the same thing to you. Love what you do and do what you love. It is powerful words I think. 😀

  • Hi Nanda,

Motivating Post. To build a successful blog, the first thing we need is patience and passion. These two are the basic pillar for blogging, not only for blogging, it is suitable for anything we want to achieve in our life. Without passion, there is no reason in doing anything and without patience we can’t get good result. If we sow a seed, we have to wait for more than four or five years to see that seed as a tree. Most people are expecting tree after sowing the seed a day after, it’s not possible.

Here i got an important point to follow, i.e., as a blogger we have to read other blogger’s blog and have to comment atleast 5 blog’s in a day without boring. It’s really awesome. Then also i like the point, never give up. If we give up, we are the losers. Superb man. Keep up posting like this.

Thanks for sharing this man. Hope to see you back.

Yes, I completely agree with you. For me, passion is one reason why you were born into this world. Well, you know, every human being who is born in the world would have a reason why they were born. I think it is a passion.

If every people brave enough to follow their passion, I believe the term of the right man on the right place will be realized. 🙂

Oh yes, all things need process and time. There is no instant in this world. We must appreciate the process. 😀

Yes, if you make 5 blogs commenting on a daily basis, you will definitely see great results. I’ve no doubt about that. 😉

Glad to know you can get something important things of this article. It was very meaningful to me. 🙂

  • Hey Nanda,

I agree that it’s good to start a blog in a niche that you are passionate about but on a webinar about making money blogging I listened to recently the presenter said that if you want to make money from your blog it’s not always a good idea to go with your passion or hobby. Some have limited opportunities obviously.

It’s hard to say the one thing that’s crucial to building a successful blog because in my view there are several. For one thing you have to write content that people want to read and makes them come back for more but it’s no good if no one knows it’s there so it’s also crucial to let people know it’s there. The best way to do this is probably through social media.

It would be great to have a blog that just takes of like happens to some bloggers without really trying! Ah well we can always dream!

    • Hi Sandy,

Oh yes, I also agree with it. If you want to earn money from a blog relatively quickly, maybe you can use it as a reference. But, I feel if I want to earn money from a blog without the need to consider it as work, I would choose a niche that I love. 🙂

The most pleasant thing is a hobby that is paid. Although you feel you do not performing any work (because it’s your hobby) but you paid for it. I think, it is a true happiness. 😀

Yes, I would not blame you for it. There are some important factors to build a successful blog, and I’m sure you already know that fact (I can see it from your comment..hehe). 😉

Thanks for sharing your great thoughts with us, Sandy.

    Hey Nanda,

You bring up some very relevant points. The one that really hit home is don’t stress over numbers. I am now eager to see them and I am a little more attached to the statistics than I realised, but I put that down to my attempt to get my Google WebMaster Tools up and running and watching the social media shares. Because for many months I had prepared myself for no traffic. I was prepared to face six months with no traffic and I have just past the three month mark. So I guess as you learn a little each day things change. But I really want to thank you for pointing this out because of late I have been focusing on this, when I knew I should not have.

Reading and commenting on other blogs. When I first heard this, I thought it was going to be the most boring task. But the knowledge I have gained through this rule can’t be described and how grateful I am for this task. I have meet some wonderful minds because of this rule. I love it and could not advocate it anymore than I do.

I enjoyed your post. Thank you.

    Rachel.

Yes, we are all the same, Rachel. I also often attached to the numbers, it can’t be helped, it’s a way for us to check out the progress of our blog, right? 😉

I think it would not be a problem if we do it occasionally. But, it’s another story if we do it every time. The more we look at those numbers, when all does not go smoothly, the easier we feel down.

Oh yes, I understand how you feel. I used to not even know how to do blog commenting before. And now, I also loved it. 🙂

That is the sentence I needed to hear today. I blogged for over a year and a half. And it all got to be too much because I was so busy trying to keep up with the Joneses of the blogging world. So I quit.

Two months ago I decided to give it another chance, but this time, I decided to do it my way without trying to compete with what everyone else is doing. Things are going much better this time.

    • Hi Angie,

Welcome to my blog. Thanks for the engagement 🙂

Glad to know that words can motivate you. Good for you.

Yes, I agree with you. I believe that blogging is not a means to compete with each other. I realized it some time ago. Blogging is your way to build relationships with other bloggers, absorbing their knowledge and share knowledge that you have to your readers.

If you do that vigorously and forget about the competition, you will get better results in all aspects. I believe on that. 😉

I’m glad you could find the right way in blogging. I’m sure you can move forward and achieve better than before.

I like No 4 and 5 most. If one works under stress he can do any kind of work but it will be devoid of creativity and impact.

Giving up is like accepting defeat and those who give up once sometimes become habitual of doing this.

Rest of the three tips are equally great and working on a niche in which one is not interest is like wasting his own and his readers time.

  • Hi Nanda,

Loved your 5 Crucial Tips For Building A Successful Blog.

Picking a niche that we are passionate about and are consistent with will surely help us to grow as bloggers and writers. The more we do a task, the more we learn.

Social Media will helps us to grow in the blogging world as long as we use it correctly and stay on top of it.

Following and commenting on other blogs is my favorite. We get to meet the coolest people this way. We have to be patient and consistent. I was lucky and met a wonderful woman who took me under her wing ant taught me about blog commenting and building relationships with others.

I check my numbers about a week after I do a blog post and am so happy to see them growing. It truly amazes me and I say to myself, I made all of that happen.

I will never give up. Failure is not an option in my book. If I’m struggling with something, I get help.

All we need to do is keep the passion burning, be patient, be consistent and be committed to growth in our journey of blogging. You covered all of these in your post.

Thank you for sharing, Nanda and you have a wonderful weekend!

You sure summed it up very well! Following just these five tips will help so much with your blog.

You do have to love what you want to blog about. That passion, inspiration..will always be there if you are doing what you love. And of course writing for others and giving the best information you can in each and every post.

I am so glad you mentioned commenting! That’s my favorite part of being a blogger. Leaving a good comment will capture the attention of a blogger. I’ve even had some people come to my blog by a comment I have left on someone’s post. This is how we grow.

    Love all 5 tips!

    Hey Nanda,

Wonderful lessons you’ve learned and I’m glad you shared them with us.

I do believe that you really have to have a huge interest in your niche in order to do well because we both know how much you’ll be blogging about it. I have ask me what should they blog about and they just started their blog. My goodness, that’s a big mistake. I know when I started this particular niche on my blog I wasn’t passionate about it but I was about helping people and this was just a great way to go about it so my love of blogging just continued to grow.

You do need to be on social media so you can get your content out there in front of so many more people. Without those platforms it’s going to be a little more difficult but not totally impossible.

Now you knew I would definitely love that you shared blog commenting. People who are doing that and having success know the powers of it. Others aren’t quite sure yet since they haven’t given it their all but it’s the best way to get in front of your audience and start the conversation so you can build those relationships.

While the numbers are important you shouldn’t obsess over them, I agree. I’ll go months without looking at mine but I can see where my traffic is coming from so it gives me a good indication of what I’m doing right.

I hope that anyone who enjoys blogging won’t quit because it’s a journey and one that won’t be completed overnight. But it’s so much fun and a wonderful experience too.

Thank you Nanda for sharing this with us and you have a wonderful week.

    • Hey Adrienne,

Thanks for your nice words. 🙂

Yes, I completely agree with you. Helping people is a noble goal in blogging. I hope you can continue to help others, especially the newbie blogger. 🙂

I could not agree more with you. Social media sites can help us in spreading our content. It will ease us to expose our content to more people. I have no doubt about it.

Of course I will include blog commenting. It is the best way to increase traffic, build relationships and promote our content. I must be crazy if not including this one. 😆

Good for you. If you are scheduled to check it out in a matter of months. You will surely get great results. I have tried to check it every day, and it got me down. 😆

Oh yes, I have the same opinion as you. When I teach someone about blogging, I really hope that they do not give up too soon. Blogging will test your strength in all aspects. But indeed, it was a lot of fun. 😀

Thanks for stopping by and share your great voice, Adrienne.
Have a wonderful week for you too!

    Hello Nanda,

The one major thing most people turn off the blogging is they don’t get result.. soon or instantly.

In real world, everything requires time to get good into, the same applies on the blogging and internet marketing; no one can get rich and get famous over night. It is the continuous effort to invest years into.

Keep going and don’t mind today’s numbers.

As you said that stressing over numbers won’t take you the next day in your blogging journey.

And wow! Blog commenting is the best medium to get noticed into blogosphere. I agree that it looks a bit boring but it is the one great way you can grab the attention of fellow bloggers that you’re in the game as well. I do try to comment on 3 blog posts daily. With it, I am being known by many great minds in blogosphere. 🙂

Social media, without a doubt, helps too much getting over next phase of our blogging journey. Too effective system to be in touch with authority, well-known bloggers and keep up with them. I can’t think of not using it almost on daily basis.

In the end, I am pleased to say thank you for including my blog post in this awesome content. Thanks, buddy! 🙂

    • Hello Adeel,

Absolute, I agree with you. I have realized that blogging and internet marketing is not a get rich quick scheme. But, some of my friends does not know it. They just see me blogging and get a few dollars from my blog.

When they tried blogging, they gave up because the reality is different from their expectations. It is a common thing I guess. 🙂

Of course, there is no point to stressing our success from the numbers. If you continue to do your best, you will be a success for sure. 😉

Wow, that’s great that you did 3 posts every day. Keep up the good work!

Yes, you and me can meet and commented to one another because of blog commenting, isn’t that proof of the power of blog commenting? 😀

Yes, it’s not a problem. I’m the one who should thanks to you for sharing such a great article. I really liked it. 🙂

Thanks for dropping such a valuable comment, Adeel.
I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend!

    Hey Nanda,

Great post here. Probably the most important tip here is to not focus on the numbers. I know that’s easier said than done, but when you’re constantly focusing on numbers, you end up focusing on the wrong numbers.

    Great stuff.

    Hi Nanda,

Great List of top Building Tips indeed!
As you described, Blog Topic is very important, First we should choose those topic in which we are expert. Wrong Niche never give you success.

As well of-page technique also good and I am agree with your number option.Quality is more important than quantity and post frequency is important more than quality.

Any way thanks for sharing with us.

    Some good tips Nanda.

Sure it’s going to inspire other bloggers. I agree with what you said and others have repeated, it’s hard not to look at the numbers and it’s hard not to want the money to come in.

Only thing I would repeat that it’s all about promotion. You could create the best content in the world, but if no one see’s it, you probably won’t find much success. Seems the best advice that’s been said many times, 20% of your time creating content and 80% promoting it.

Thanks for sharing this Nanda 🙂
