Using LinkedIn To Increase Your Blog Traffic

Whether LinkedIn truly able to increase my blog traffic?
Then, what should I do to increase my blog traffic by using LinkedIn?

If such questions often arise in your mind, then I will help to convince you that LinkedIn can indeed increase your blog traffic.

I’ve felt the benefits myself though. If you are still unsure, this article will provide some tips using LinkedIn to increase your blog traffic for sure.

I believe you definitely know that LinkedIn is one of the most popular social networking website, as well as with Facebook or Twitter, and especially for career oriented people and businessmen.

So, what can be done with LinkedIn?

You can use LinkedIn to market your brand, share your expertise and your content, building relationships, and most importantly, bring more traffic to your blog.

So, follow these 7 tips using LinkedIn to increase your blog traffic for sure:

1. Set Your Goals First And Create A Profile Based On It

Don’t fill your profile with information about your life as a chronological story.

You must complete your profile with information related to your goals, information that will make you closer to your goals.

If you have goals to provide tips about blogging, then make sure you always publish that kind of information.

Make yourself as a trusted source for the type of information.

2. Connect With Many People

If you have a lot of acquaintances, then you can send a connections request to them. Also, don’t forget to send a connection request to the people who will bring you closer to your goals as well.

The formula is simple, if you have a lot of connections on your LinkedIn profile, your status updates will also be seen by many people.

Yes, that’s what will bring lots of traffic to your blog.

3. Join Groups or Start Your Own

Drive Traffic Using LinkedInGroups on LinkedIn are very active groups. If you want to increase traffic to your blog, then you should look for groups related to your blog content.

In other words, groups that contain people who are interested in reading your content.

My suggestion is you should look for groups that have a lot of members. By doing so, you will have a lot of connections and increase your traffic as well.

I have joined several groups on LinkedIn and have been tasted the benefits myself.

So, under what conditions should I start my own group?

It’s easy, if you don’t find groups that fits with your blog niche, what other choice do you have then?

That’s right, it’s your time to start one! 😉

4. Give and Request Endorsements

One of the best ways to increase your reputation that can only be done by using LinkedIn is the endorsement feature.

Endorse the people who are connected with you, then ask them to endorse you back.

Endorsements will be seen at your profile and this is the best way to tell the world about your expertise.

Then, if your blog content related to your expertise, your reputation will be in automatically created. Is there anything better than this?

However, I didn’t use this technique yet. My job as blogger is creates blog content that is valuable for many people.

I don’t want to beg people to endorse me. If they really got value from my content and endorse me, that’s a bonus for me!

Well, this is just my personal opinion though. 🙂

Okay, let’s move next!

5. Be Active

When you have created your profile and join some groups related to your blog niche, then all you have to do next is to actively participate in it.

Feel free to like the group discussions, comment on others’ status, making endorsement and so on.

Don’t just spend time updating your own status and sharing your own content. Instead, spend a significant amount of your time talking with other members and helping to promote their content too.

It will increase and strengthen your online presence, especially your presence on LinkedIn.

6. Share Your Best Content

Tips For Using LinkedIn EffectivelyMake sure you only share your best content, the most useful content that you ever had. It’s very important to do especially if you have joined the groups.

If your content is truly good, then your traffic will increase by itself.

Thing you should not do is flood the groups with your content links.

And the thing you must do is show that you can add value to the readers by sharing only the amazing content from your blog.

7. Promote Your LinkedIn Profile

If you want to gain more traffic to your blog, then you should have a lot of connections.

In order to get more connections, you can share your LinkedIn profile wherever you want, such as on your blog, in your email signature and so on.

As long as your LinkedIn profile shows up at the top of a Google search for your name, it’s more important than your website.

That’s it! 7 tips using LinkedIn to increase your blog traffic. Well, any social media sites can be used to increase your blog traffic, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc…

All of it just depends on how you can use it with the correct techniques and effectively!

So, are you using LinkedIn to promote your blog?
What are your tips in using LinkedIn to increase your blog traffic?

  • Hi Nanda,

I completely agree with your tips here. I use Linkedin sparingly. I have to devote more time to it for sure. When I do it doesn’t seem to get much engagement from my post. It seems that Linkedin is getting spammy but I also still feel its the best place to meet contacts that convert into sales etc.

    Thanks for this Nanda

  • Hi,

I found your article via Google+.

I have used LinkedIn for many years but not in the way that I should. As a freelancer, I keep it as my CV reference. Whilst I do share my blogs on there, I don’t seem to get too much interaction.

However from reading this, you’ve made me think about what my profile says about me and I have deleted it, so that I can start again.

I read a few weeks ago that LinkedIn will be enabling a blogging platform on there, which will be interesting.

Are you planning on using it?

    Thanks,
    Chelsea

    • Hi Chelsea,

Welcome to my blog and thanks for making time to visit my blog via Google+ 🙂

Well, to get more interaction, we also need to be active there. As I mentioned in this article, like and comment on other people’s posts that suits your goals. That way, your online presence will become stronger.

Yes, late is better than none at all 🙂

To be honest, this is the first time I heard about it. If it’s interesting, I’ll try it someday. Thanks for the info Chelsea 😀

P.S: I think it would be better if you start to set up your Gravatar immediately. Well you know, many bloggers will throw comments without a Gravatar to spam box. They are not going to read it. This is just my suggestion, the decision is yours 😉

      Thanks for coming here, Chelsea.
Have a nice day for you.

  • Hi Nanda,

You are absolutely right – apt tips to increase your blog traffic through LinkedIn. 🙂

Joining a number of groups is essential as it also gets you clients, for which you need to do up your profile well enough too. I guess if you can spend time on these two things, the rest follows up. I hardly send any invitations to people, instead, keep getting people reaching out to connect with me. But I do check out their profiles before accepting them in my list of course. However, I do need to spend more time on LinkedIn being an active member of the group.

Honestly speaking, due to the lack of time, I hardly visit LinkedIn except when someone comments on my post, as I ensure I reply to them, or else to add people to networks and endorse each other. There is surely a lot of potential there, waiting to be tapped.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

I also try to be more active in the group and see what will happen, I’m so looking forward to see the results 😀

Thanks for stopping by and commenting here, Harleena.

I think the most important of these tips you shared are tips 2 and 3… People are definitely going to help push your blog up the ranks. This is why it’s so important to connect and engage with them whether it be on linkedIn or on your blog through comments!

Groups are a great way to help get your blog promoted as well. I started out using groups, and each member (serious members) will also help push you up the ranks. This is also a great alternative to meet other bloggers who are like yourself!

  • Don Purdum says:

    Hi Nanda,

LinkedIn is one of my favorite places on the web. I have gotten massive connections in the last year and all with my target audience. I love some of the interaction.

The groups are amazing as well and I enjoy reading through others info and learning from them. It creates a lot of opportunities not just to learn but also to gain new partners and customers.

I also like the Publish feature but I fear it might already be over exposure if used too often. Not sure yet but I will keep experimenting with it.

I get a huge amount of endorsements, but I only give them if I’ve had a lot of exposure to someone and I can vouch for them. I know others who are very giving with it but I decided to hold back on that a little bit.

Great post! Thanks for the ideas and I hope you have a strong finish to your week!

    ~ Don Purdum

    • Hi Don,

Indeed, as you said. I also get a lot of benefit from LinkedIn as well, especially from LinkedIn groups. It was an incredible group that is filled by professionals.

Yes, I agree with you. You don’t have to use it too often. Doing something excessively is definitely not good. We must use it wisely. 🙂

Same with you. I will give endorsements to someone if I know the person well. I don’t want to give endorsements carelessly though.

Thanks for your nice words, Don.
Glad to see you here. 😉
